FIELD NOTES

Print Numberleaf questions and answer keys on A4 or US Letter, save a PDF in your browser and keep matching sheets together.

Generate once, print the matching pair

Choose settings and generate a sheet. Use Print questions for the learner sheet and Print answer key for the matching answers. The seed and generator version are printed at the bottom. Printing or changing paper size does not generate new mathematics. If settings are edited, generate again before expecting them on paper.

Match the paper size

Select A4 or US Letter in the tool and choose the same paper in the browser print dialogue. Use portrait orientation, normal scale (100%) and turn browser headers/footers off. Each question sheet contains up to twelve problems, or six for long division. Counts above those limits continue on another page.

Save a PDF with the browser

Click the appropriate Print button, then choose Save as PDF or your system PDF printer. This is a browser print workflow, not a direct PDF download. Inspect the preview before saving: check the paper size, page count, working space and whether you selected questions or the key.

Troubleshoot a cramped preview

Check that browser scaling is not enlarging the page and that paper sizes agree. Disable browser headers/footers if extra URLs or dates appear. If a printer needs larger unprintable margins, try a small reduction in scale. Mobile browsers can place print controls under their Share menu.

Understand the data download

Download worksheet data saves a JSON file containing the configuration, question list and answers. It is useful for keeping a reproducible record, but is not a printable PDF. Keep it away from learners if you do not want the answer key visible.

Put it into practice.
